What the hell is with the prefix ‘lil’ becoming alias de jour in hip hop. Lil Wayne, Lil Flip, Lil Cease, Lil Mo, Lil Kim, granted some have been around for a while but it doesn’t make the concept any less fucking stupid. Hip hop is an industry that thrives of the finer things, particularly in the US, since when has being ‘lil’ been something to aim for. I don’t ever recall hearing a porno actress – damn straight that have lines put down the fast forward – say, “Damn I wish he was smaller in the penis area.” Who gets picked on in school, little kids, or who has thought of their wife to be announcing, “Yeah could you get me a diamond that’s a little less shiny”. While we are on jewellery rappers constantly try and have the biggest watch, chunkiest pendent, largest diamond stud, muthafucker look at the prefix to your name. If you are Lil Wayne I want to hear how you are rolling on 12 inch rims in your Honda Civic with one four inch speaker and all the ladies love you coz you hung like a cashew, after it has baked in a Saharan dessert for a month and a half.
