| Other Info | His last Sydney show back in 2006 was packed with dedicated Krush fans and newcomers alike and now with an even more limited capacity, this show will be a must see for any fans of the classic MoWax days and the modern turntablist style. He is the inspiration of many current day producers and DJs worldwide and has collaborated on many classic tracks with DJ Shadow. Krush is one of Japan's few musicians to be embraced by the global hip-hop world. Releasing material through Sony in Japan, Mo'Wax and Virgin in the U.K., Axiom, Shadow, and A&M in America, Krush's heady brand of experimental, (largely) instrumental hip-hop has been praised by everyone from underground hip-hop 'zines like The Bomb all the way up to Rolling Stone and Spin. Krush's style has tended more toward the abstract, applying heavy effects and sample manipulation to thick, smart breaks, layered, almost ambient textures, and subtle, inventive scratching. With MCs lining up to be immortalized on a Krush album he has worked with some of the best including Guru, Black Thought (The Roots), CL Smooth, Mos Def and on his most recent album Krush is joined by cutting edge MCs Mr Lif and Aesop Rock from The Definitive Jux crew. DJ Krush latest album Stepping Stones is a ‘best of’ of sorts where he has remixed and re-edited his own classic tracks. With a highly decorated career of over 12 years behind the turntables and in the studio making beats this is a chance to witness a true legend live and intimate.
