There is a certain act in the Australian scene that I have been holding out on venting on, but the time has come. Fuck X & Hell, they do nothing but dumb down the culture and all credible acts that were or are associated with them. It’s like watching two dodgy Idol contestants covering US chart hits. Time and time again they bite the sound that sells in the US and try to ram it down our throats. Now while they may not claim to be a part of the Oz hip hop scene, and we thank anyone we believe in for that daily. The fact remains the general listener doesn’t give a shit. To them the guys with American accents from Melbourne are rappers and thus the derision begins. Sampling ‘90s commercial dance on their new single is not innovative; it’s fucking stupid. Once again they have locked down the year’s worst song award six months early. Like genital warts, however, this duo is for life.
